8 Life Lessons

Hari ini adalah hari memotivasikan diri.

Salah satu bahan bacaan kegemaran saya adalah bahan bacaan berunsurkan motivasi. Saya perasan, jika lama tak refleksi diri, jiwa terasa macam kacau semacam lepas tu mula lah nak meroyan. Mukjizat namanya.

Anyway.

Was up at 3 am today to pump milk and cut Iman Nasuha's tiny finger nail yang dah panjang dan tajam - she is now at the stage yang suka nak explore-explore muka orang with her hands - so to make sure she does not scratch my face (MY face, not hers hehe), I gotta make sure the nails are trimmed nicely.

Anyway.

Sambil pam, had some quiet time to myself - the best part about pumping at wee hours is the stillness of the air, with the occasional sleepy sigh of my daughter...so so calming. And I got to thinking about love and life (cewah), which are the two topics I'm most interested in..

So today, I sorta come up with the following list, which I wish to share with you. Enjoy!

8 Life Lessons

Lesson #1
Positivity does not come naturally. You gotta train yourself to be positive. Convince yourself that you are a positive person by saying positive things and doing positive actions. You may feel like a fake at times, but do it anyway. Fake positivity is always better than outright genuine negativity!

Lesson #2
Your tiny heart, has an infinite capacity to grow. Take care of it so it only grows towards love and goodness.

Lesson #3
We see the world through our lenses. Most of the time, if we cant seem to comprehend our surroundings, try cleaning our lenses first.

Lesson #4
Why motherhood is so rewarding - [pondering for over 20 minutes and...] why not?!

Lesson #5
Worrying happens, everyone knows that. Just don't let it happen all the time and always.

Lesson #6
Give people the benefit of the doubt. They might just surprise you.

Lesson #7
Judge, but keep an open mind. The principal is easy - I always judge, but I also allow you to prove me wrong.

Lesson #8
The spilled water is easily cleaned, but a bruised heart is not so easy to mend. Speak kind words.

The end...!

5 Pengalaman Bisnes Shaklee Online Yang Menyenangkan Hati

Salam readers sekalian!

Antaranya

Lebih unik bila kembali berhubung dalam konteks Shaklee is - you get to interact on a deeper level, not just

Hi how are you, ok sihat? Ok sihat takpelah..

It's more like -

Macam mana nak buat ek?
- Berat badan belum turun dari hari tu lagiiii...tolongggg
- Mak masuk hospital sakit kaki..kesian tengok mak jalan tersenget-senget...
- Abang baru masuk wad, suspect sakit jantung..

And if you know me, theres nothing more that I value than interactions like this - sambil sharing, sambil kumpul pahala...sambil jual barang lah jugak of course, sebab barang manyak baik punya...

2. Bila follow up customer, customer kasi feedback baik punya

Lagi nak explain ke?

3. Duit dekat bank bertambah setiap 15hb

Shaklee sekarang bank-in bonus dengan transfer online to you account.

Sekarang dah guna online transfer.

Alhamdulillah duit bonus lepas lah nak bayar minyak kereta, shopping online dan menampung nafsu nak makan kat kedai mahal-mahal.

Next target is untuk dapatkan bonus sama banyak dengan gaji kerja Sime Darby, go!

Dulu agak rasa skeptikal bila mentor asyik cakap - please interact with each other, tolong berbunyi dalam group sokongan ni, tolong lahhh

Jadi selain daripada update blog, facebook page dan buat promosi bersungguh-sungguh, hari saya saya penuhi dengan membaca anything and everything that has got to do with supplements, health dan marketing.

Untuk orang yang 'thirst for knowledge' macam saya ni, memang sesuai sangat.

Kalay bukan sebab nak buat bisness online Shaklee dan mentor yang macam tu, saya tak rasa saya akan tertarik dengan buku Ray Strand ataupun buku Understanding Diabetes...

Terima kasih Shaklee.

Bijiran? Whats that?

The chemical structure of phytosterol is very much similar to that of cholesterol – tak dapat nak komen banyak on the structure sebab bukan major chemical, tapi Nampak dalam gambar macam betul lah serupa..

Anyway.

So easy! Let's make it harder for them okay!

Berapa banyak fitosterol yang elok diambil sehari, just nice tak terlalu banyak tak kurang?

A recommended dose of 2000mg fitosterol adalah disarankan oleh Institut Kesihatan Kebangsaan Amerika (NIH) untuk ada dalam diet seharian supaya dapay membantu badan ‘reject’ kolesterol dan turunkan parasnya secara semulajadi.

Dan secara bestnya, Shaklee of course has done their reaseach because.... Phytocol-ST provides exactly that amount - 2000mg of phytosterols goodness.

Talk about efficiency, hehe...

Bayangkan next check-up paras kolesterol anda jadi cantik sangat sampai doktor tanya - adik dah lama tak makan roti canai ke dik?

Sengih - sengih la tau, sebab kita makan roti canai macam biasa tapi kolesterol tak naik!

Macam testimoni kat bawah ni...

Lab test result - SEBELUM
Lab test result - SELEPAS

Teruja? Saya yang teruja..

Dapatkan Phytocol-ST anda hari ini, sekarang! Call / SMS / Whatsapp / Facebook Message lah okay!

My Labour Experience Part 4 : Dejavu

When the Doc sent us home and advised me to do activities to help expedite the labour, we were ambitious.

Ambitions:
  • Taknak terus balik rumah, we go MidValley first and walk around
  • Then petang go swimming
  • Malam go Putrajaya and walk walk and more walking until can go labour

Reality:

Pengsan
That was my Husband, by the way. Apparently the thought of ‘almost’ being a father is so exhausting already he went straight to sleep the minute kitorang sampai rumah, which is like, straight away after the hospital.

Haiya

One of the Doc’s instruction, apart from do some activities to expedite cervix opening was to strictly count the timing of my contractions, and should it become 3 in 10 ( 3 contractions in 10 minutes), I was to head straight back to the hospital because chances are, I’m in active labour already.

For those of you who might not know what contractions are, they basically look like this.

and this

This is how I look like I think, when the pain got stronger

My pain was OK throughout the afternoon. The frequency of the peaks are still quite spaced apart (more time to chill than be in pain), the peaks are not sustained for long (sakit tak lama, masih boleh berjalan dan bergelak ketawa) and the peaks are not that peak-y yet (maksudnya, tak sakit sangat la ya)

Can still comfortably bounced on the exercise ball and watched Prison Break.

But come night time, peaks and frequency dah semakin over so no, no sleep for me the whole night. The first hour of not sleeping, everytime sakit memang gerak Azam untuk....entah, teman sakit sama-sama? Dia sakit hati kot asyik kena kacau tidur ade lah..

Beyond the first hours, dah tak kejut sangat sebab macam no use je, I can time my own contractions pun..

Oh lupa nak cakap. When we got back home, Azam buat table atas a piece of paper untuk track my contractions. Siap ada column for starting time, end time, and duration so we can track la dalam 10 minit tu ada berapa contractions dah and berapa lama.

So keen to be involved, that guy. And such wonderful idea, kan? Was suggested by WikiHow tau...

Yang tak berapa nak bestnya sebab siang tu kan tak berapa sakit, so masih aktif bergerak ke sana sini, and when the contraction came tergagau-gagau cari kertas tadi dengan pen. Menjelang jumpa, baru nak tulis, contraction dah habis, lupa nak tengok jam, lupa dah nak time berapa lama, lupa segala-galanya lah!

So apparently, wonderful but not so efficient la.

He immediately went on the net again to look for better ways to track, and found this.

Contraction timer!

So this contraction timer helps to automatically time your contraction start time, end time, and duration so you can closely monitor and ensure whether or not to its time to go to hospital! Very very useful.

This is my bestfriend until the baby is born, serious. Go eat also bring, go toilet pun tak tinggal, sleep pun this apps is on standby sebab hey, MANA ADA BOLEH TIDUR BILA DAH START CONTRACTION? Jangan bermimpi ok.

So if you ask me what one thing you should take away from this sharing in this part PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS APPS! And ditch wikihow. Masih offer manual suggestion in this e-world, sheesh.

So anyway, throughout the night I slept with my phone, and every waking moment will be me tapping ‘START’ and when the pain subsides – ‘END’. Wild night, huh?

I must be ready esok la kot ni rasenye nak deliver ni,it has been like what, more than 24 hours since 12am last night? Esok kalau pergi hospital at 8am, it will be 32 hours dah la..

I am 'above' average, apparently...special...
So the next day, please read PART 2 because that is what happened, but this time less excitement from my parents sebab like...semalam cakap nak deliver tak deliver-deliver pun?..haha..

Dragged my pregnant self to the hospital, with hope. Azam was up with a renewed energy – its a new day full of promise!

Is it?
Eh mengada, tolong jangan tipu contraction boleh tak? Balik dulu!
I think that was what my Doctor wanted to say when she saw me again in her room, haha!

Masa register dekat kaunter, nurse tanya dah bukak berapa, instead of telling the truth (2 in 10, that time), I said almost 3 in 10 already heheh... orang nak menipu tak berilmu memang cenggini, akan kantoi dengan tak bermaruah sangat lah cos the CTG can tell, and during VE (yes another VE!), bukaan sesuai dengan contraction nya lah.

I was only 2 cm dilated then.

Freaking 36 hours of pain and only 2 cm dilated.

If I follow the Rule of Proportionality in Maths (and Maths never lie, bak kata Charlie Epps in Numbers, a series I used to fondly follow), it will take me another 36 times 5 = 180 hours = 7.5 days before servix is 10cm dilated!

Dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *cry*

So if we follow this tangent, and this x, and that y, then take the dy/dx, yeah, you gotta chill till 648000 seconds later k, take it easy mama!

So macam mana ni Doktor?

Balik dulu lah, keep on timing your contractions and once dah sampai 3 in 10, you can come back. Or if you suddenly pecah air ketuban ke, come back straight here.

So.....

Dragged my pregnant self and my delivery bag home. Dejavu? You tell me.

My Labour Experience Part 3 : You Can Suffer at Home?

The hospital, that morning, was not too crowded. Probably because Hubs & I were amongst the first to arrive, at around 8:30 am.

Told the nurse at the reception counter about my apparently 'mini' contraction - and was a bit puzzled by the calmness in acknowledging.

Okay Puan...Puan duduk dulu, nanti nurse panggil buat test berat air kencing dan CTG ya...

Ah okay...I'll just chill la okay? My contraction ni cam... I'll just chill, ya?

But they don't seem to care about my 'I'm in labour!!!' face so off I dragged my pregnant self to the bangku before being called for the CTG 5 minutes later.

So basically, in my checkup today three (3) things happened:

  1. CTG - where I lay down for almost 1.5 hours because despite the contractions, baby slept quite comfortably inside
  2. Vaginal Examination (VE) - where Doc will check how dilated I am down there - basically 10cm dilated means I'm ready to push
  3. Delivery!
Or maybe just two.

1. CTG

The machine will display a contraction graph -
though the one was strapped to
was electronic - graph was shown on
the screen instead of printed like in the photo
above
Stands for Cardiotocography, and no, I did not know it then - googled it 2 mins ago to share with you guys. Its where wires connected to a small machine will be strapped on your pregnant belly and machine will detect baby's heartbeat to see whether its normal or not.

Same wires will also be strapped during labour, to see the intensity of contraction and Doc will give you the cue to push when contraction is at its peak.

But I look like this la ha during my CTG - all chilling and happy to give birth cos I though that my 'mini' contraction is all a contraction has to offer.

Oh boy.

2. Vaginal Examination or commonly known as VE

Doctor will perform a VE per the picture above to ensure the servix is dilated enough for the delivery to happen. Pressure from the baby together with the contraction (pushing the baby through the birth canal) will cause the servix to open..

This is the part that I am most scared of.

I had my first VE when I had bleeding issues earlier in the pregnancy. It was at SDMC, and alamak dia tak consider langsung its my first time kot! The Doc was all frustrated when I kept moving and tensing my muscle so my first VE experience was not so pleasant. Trauma sikit la.

So this time, belum masuk bilik doktor dah cuak. Berkongsi ke-cuak-kan dengan Husband yang hanya tersengih-sengih - encouragement much?

Baring atas katil and dengar Doc cakap kat nurse - OK prepare for VE - kelenjar peluh ketiak mula aktif.

Doktor pasang sarung tangan, ok kelenjar peluh bocor.

Doktor, sakit tak? (padahal tahu memang sakit)

Eh takpa, saya ajar macam mana. Nanti nak beranak lagi banyak kali kena VE, kena praktis lah kang beranak koyak teruk...

This time......... OK still not an expert (OMG how to give birth like this????), but better mostly because the Doctor was patient in giving guidance and encouragement and even afterwards when I asked how I did, she was all kind to say - Tak apalah baru pertama kali, nanti next time oklah dah practice..

Inilah doktor yang kita mahukan. Hidup Doktor Yus!

Note : Sorry no photo of me during VE - to busy being scared.....

3. Delivery time...kan?

You're only dilated 1 cm.

What?

I know it's normal for the servix to take some time to dilate for first born, but contraction was already there since 12am so now that its almost 9 / 10-ish am, surely its more than just 1 cm opened, yeah?

Ye ke Doktor?

Yeap - so no point to admit you now because later lama-lama dalam wad boleh stress pulak....I would advise you to go home & exercise sikit-sikit, banyakkan berjalan to expedite the openings.

Right.

...

..

.

Bring back my delivery bag and my pregnant self home like a champion and went through the door to my Mum's surprised face - EH TAK JADI BERANAK?

...To be continued...

Saya ambil Omega Guard atas dua sebab:
  1. Nak boleh makan  Secret Recipe's Raspberry Yoghurt Cheesecake tanpa rasa bersalah.
  2. Sediakan Iman Nasuha untuk jadi saintis
Macam mana tu?
